CHOOSE FOR THE JOB. FINISH FOR THE DISPLAY.
Materials & Finishing Guide
The right print starts with where it will be used. Compare the main options, understand the finishing and ask us if your project needs a different specification.
Start with four questions
- Will it be displayed indoors or outdoors?
- Is it a short promotion or a longer-term sign?
- How will it be supported, fixed or mounted?
- What size and viewing distance do you need?
Material suitability depends on the exact product, thickness, fixing method and conditions. Read the product specification before ordering.
FLEXIBLE PRINT
PVC banners
A flexible option for promotional messages, events and business advertising. Available finishes can include hems, eyelets or pole pockets.
Check: material weight, single/double-sided availability and the support you will use.
Browse banners →AIRFLOW
Mesh banners
A perforated material that allows some air through, often considered for fence graphics and more exposed display locations.
Check: mesh type, print detail, support and fixing conditions. Mesh still catches wind; it does not make an unsuitable structure or fixing safe.
LIGHTWEIGHT BOARD
Correx / fluted board
A lightweight fluted plastic commonly used for temporary notices, site information and promotional signs.
Check: board thickness, panel size, support and the required display period.
Browse boards →SMOOTH DISPLAY
Foamex / PVC foamboard
A rigid PVC board with a smooth face, often chosen for display panels, point-of-sale graphics and promotional signage.
Check: thickness, indoor/outdoor suitability and mounting for the exact product. Larger panels may need additional support.
MORE ROBUST PANELS
Aluminium composite / ACM
A composite panel with aluminium faces, often considered for longer-term business signs and display panels.
Check: panel specification, fixing positions and suitability for the location. The supporting surface matters as much as the printed panel.
PRODUCT-SPECIFIC
Vinyl, fabric & display systems
Adhesive vinyl depends on the surface and application. Flags, fabric displays and roller banners use product-specific materials and hardware.
Check: compatibility, dimensions and templates. A replacement graphic must match the exact display system.
What do the finishing options mean?
BANNERS
Hems & eyelets
A hem reinforces the edge. Eyelets provide fixing points. Their availability and spacing depend on the product and selected finish.
Keep important artwork clear of the finishing area; see the product’s artwork requirements.
BANNERS
Pole pockets
A pocket is formed to accommodate a pole or support. Its size and position affect the artwork area and visible design.
Confirm the pole diameter, pocket edges and finished dimensions before ordering.
BOARDS
Drilled holes & shaped edges
Drilled holes, rounded corners and contour cutting are available only where offered or agreed for the product.
Confirm positions, hole size and any cutting-file requirements. Do not assume fixings are included.
PRINT OPTIONS
One side or two?
Select the side configuration offered on the product page. For double-sided work, identify front and back files and check whether the chosen material needs additional bleed or finishing allowance.
